Continuing on the fashion collaborations, here are a few more juicy morsels:

Diamond, Julien Macdonald's new contribution to Debenhams to accompany his Star range, in the shape of short flirty dresses. You can pick up a bargain dress for just £35!
Jonathan Saunders is also introducing his dressess, with styles rangeing from colour blocking to structured panelled outfits.
If you want to have a go at those sexy sleek little numbers have a look at Preens range, Bodycon dresses going for £60.

Fashion Collaborations

This year seems to be the year for fashion collaborations, we have had an unprecedented number so far.

These lucrative deals are designed to introduce a younger clientele to some generally inaccessible designer brands.

So far we have seen: Lanvin for H&M, remember that yellow dress with the asymmetric ruffles?.

Valentino for GAP (hard to forget the ruffled parkas)

There are some collaborations on a smaller scale out there, Celia Britwell for John Lewis www.johnlewis.http://www.johnlewis.com where you can find an array of blouses and dresses with her signature prints.

Terry de Havilland made the “Lydia” wedge for John Lewis.

Uniqlo and Jil Sander produced some great duffel coats, shirts and wool trousers.

Autumn 2010 For Men

One of the most noticeable trends for both men and women this season, is the military look.
We have seen it filter through from catwalk to shop, the lovely mossy greens, russets and gun metals in chunky fabrics, knits and leathers from overcoats, parkas, trenches to aviator jackets. It's all about no-messing masculinity and the more sharp objects, nails or studs you can attach to your garment the better, think Mad Max.You can accessorize with heavy duty boots (something you'd be happy to go down the pit with) and maybe a knitted snood to soften and complete the look. You would normally go for one or a couple of elements that make up this look and leave the whole look for those more fashion fierce amongst you.

Today I am going to review a very different specimen, I cannot say this will become popular but I find it worthy of note for its originality and elegance. The kilt-trouser as seen at the Marc Jacobs A/W 2010 collection www.marcjacobs.com. Now the concept may be a scary one for most of you, but I assure you there's nothing feminine about this look. The trousers are beautifully tailored in lovely fabrics, the kilted element adds an extra dimension and interest. Let me know what you think.

Autumn and the aviator.

I think we can safely put the summer behind us now and concentrate on this exciting new season. If you are already picking up on the scents and scenes of Autumn, wet leaves wood smoke, bringing out your light coats and revisiting your knitwear the time has come to pick out "the absentees" in your wardrobe and bring in some new stuff!

It has been a while, StyleMode has been too busy to blog! back again now, and loving the shades of grey we can find in every shop. S/S 2010 Let's talk lace and pastels...

So, London Fashion Week is over, it's been fun, StyleMode attended some select gatherings and was happy to observe and chat to fellow fashion enthusiasts. Anyway let's get back to the real world now, as you may have already noticed there is a strong resurgence of lace around, mainly in neutral pastels. StyleMode doesn't recommend going too full on with the lace, a few touches here and there properly accessorized, after all, few can get away with a Madonna circa 1984 look or a full on Victorian Lady look!

Pastel neutrals are also arriving in floaty ethereal fabrics worked into generous drapes and frills or tight fitting drapes with sharper edges in fitted skirt and jacket combos; bring on the summer power suit!

StyleMode also has a lot of time for this seasons take on the much feared harem trousers, stocked in most high street shops from Zara to Esprit, this is a great summer trouser, the higher waisted wide band varieties are more flattering than the MC Hammer-like baggy versions.

So, its that time of year again, we have all browsed the sales racks and some of us have bagged some very satisfying bargains. That said, I for one, am eager to bring some spring into my wardrobe and what better way to begin this transformation than checking out the lateset spring /summer collections out there,
Do go and have a look at H&M, their collaboration with Sonia Rykiel has brought in all the bright colours of spring in her traditional bright yellows and warm pinks. The queen of knit's models are now more affordable than ever, and her light knits are perfect for the warmer days ahead!
